“There is no TV in my living room” has become the home choice of more and more post-80s and post-90s. Many friends put themselves into the embrace of “projector”. But if you don’t have a basic understanding of “projector”, how can you buy your favorite baby?
Let’s talk today, 6 tricks to teach you to choose your favorite projector.
1.Projector Short focus is the hard demand
When it comes to projectors, the first thing that comes to mind is “big screen” and “private cinema-level giant screen”. Yes, one of the biggest advantages of projectors compared to TVs is the giant screen, but have you ever thought about it: Projecting a 120-inch giant screen, those projectors that do not support short-throw may need a distance of three or four meters to do so ! Each projector has its own optimal throw distance, which is the first data we need to pay attention to when buying a projector.
Note that each projector has its own optimal throw distance, and you must be optimistic about how long the distance can throw at what size] when purchasing. Then measure the size of your home projection area, how long the projection distance is, and buy the corresponding projector.
Of course, there is also a lazy method. You don’t need to use anything. Even if you buy it with your eyes closed, there will be no situation where the projection distance is not enough. 1-2.5 meters for a 60-inch-120-inch giant screen, no problem, no one has room for one or two meters!
Here comes the knowledge point: the ratio of the throw distance to the screen width is called the throw ratio. Throw ratio = projection distance/screen width, that is to say, under the same projection distance, the larger the screen width, the smaller the projection ratio value.
When the throw ratio is less than 1, we usually call it a short-throw lens; when the throw ratio is below 0.6, it is an ultra-short-throw lens.
2.The degree of color reproduction is related to Projector’s visual enjoyment
White and bright colors are obviously not what we are after. We want truly restored colors and clear, delicate and vivid pictures. In this regard, there is no reason to say that, we need to look at the patented technology promoted by the merchants.
When it comes to “technology”, merchants generally do not falsely advertise. If there is, there is, or there is no. After all, merchants will also supervise each other.
The color advantage of GS1 is that the white balance point is close to D65, which accurately covers the REC•709 international color gamut standard. In the D65 standard, 6500K is the reference point for white. Above this value, the color is cooler, and below it, the color is warmer. The closer it is to D65, the higher the color reproduction.
3.Portability is an advanced requirement for home projectors
Of the ten projectors, maybe six or seven are hung on the ceiling.
In fact, the ceiling-mounted projector is not very convenient. First, it is inconvenient to install. Either you need to lay out the wiring in advance during the water and electricity transformation stage, or the open wiring is exposed outside. Second, it is inconvenient to use. The projector has HDMI interface, USB interface, SD card interface and so on.
Third, the viewing experience is slightly poor. You can only watch it in the living room. If you want to lie down in the bedroom and watch it, or go to the study to project PPT, it will not work. Fourth, it is inconvenient to maintain. The vents need to be cleaned after a long time of dust accumulation. If they are installed on the top, they will pay a price.
Therefore, it is best not to install the projector on the top surface. It is best to bring its own lithium battery, which is easy to take. It is usually placed on the coffee table or drawer, and you can take it out and open it when you need it.
Moreover, the rechargeable lithium battery can support 3-5 hours, and watch movies while having barbecue with friends in the garden. Get rid of the troubles of wiring, you can walk around the house with a portable projector, watch wherever you want, lie down, lie down, and choose any posture, which is very comfortable. You can go out camping and watch big movies.
4.The brightness of the projector
The higher the brightness, the better the picture? In fact, the human eye’s perception of brightness is dynamic, and the most important thing is to match the ambient light.
In indoor sunlight, indoor twilight, outdoor, starlight, full moon and other environments, it can automatically adjust to complement or reduce brightness and contrast to ensure bright and vivid images and relieve eye fatigue. It is an excellent projector.
Now the projector technology has advanced a lot, and the era of turning off the lights and drawing the curtains before watching a movie has passed.
5.The resolution of the projector
he current mainstream resolutions are 720P (1280720) and 1080P (19201080). 720P is entry-level, and 1080P is an advanced version. Whether it is 720p or 1080p, both belong to high-definition projection. As for which one to buy? 1080p projection does have certain advantages in terms of picture clarity, but this advantage is only obvious in the performance test that is completely aimed at clarity.
For practical applications, whether it is projecting 1080p Blu-ray discs or 720p ones. For high-definition games, this gap is obviously very small, especially when the projected picture is constant, this advantage will become smaller and smaller as the viewing distance increases.
Our purchase suggestion is that for users with sufficient budget and larger use occasions, choosing 1080p projection will naturally have better picture performance, and this advantage will be more obvious when projecting super-large pictures; For users with average viewing distance and projection size requirements, it may be more economical to choose a more cost-effective 720p projection.
6.Keystone correction and speakers for projectors
Our projector may not be square, so we need the projector to be able to automatically correct. Vertical correction is a basic requirement, and it would be better if vertical and horizontal corrections were possible.
Finally, let’s talk about the good partner of the projector: speakers. To build a home video hall, speakers are indispensable. Although some projectors have built-in speakers, they are not as good as professional speakers.
The supporting speakers of the projector must be selected to be able to perceive 3D sound effects, and rely on the ears to create an immersive feeling. The roar of the plane, the roar of the lion… The picture seen by the eyes is amplified by the 3D sound effect, which brings a strong sense of immersion.
